Mrs. Virginia Blair and her family donated the school property to the city of
Fredonia, Kentucky in 2005 for the purpose of restoration.
"Miss Virginia" is not the only one interested in keeping the old schoolhouse alive.
With the help of grants and generous donations the small, wooden schoolhouse is
breathing new life as the community comes together to witness the preservation and
transformation of a simple, one room, wooden schoolhouse into a historical treasure.
