The land behind Fairview Baptist Church was deeded for the Fairview Cemetery years ago.
Past members, friends and loved ones are resting there on the hillside behind the church.
Most of the ones buried there are related by blood or marriage, and it is still being used for burials.
One of the earliest marked burials is Eller (Sells) Pugh b. 1868 d. 1897
There is a perpetual care cemetery fund set up with a board of trustees to oversee it.
The cemetery is well maintained due to the efforts for many years of Kenneth and Murty (Ortt) Blick.
Mowing is $60.00 each time this year (2006) so any help would be appreciated.
Anyone wishing to make a donation to the cemetery fund to help maintain the cemetery please contact
me and I will tell you how you can do it, Peggy
