 The War Department notified Mrs Myrtle CARR of Route 2, Cadiz, last Thursday of the death of her son, Private First Class Eldon Reed AHART. Pfc Ahart was reported missing in action on September 30, but states the War Department communication, "reports now received states he was killed in action September 30 in Luxembourg."

MRS TENNIE AHART

Member of Prominent Family Dies
Mrs. Tennie AHART of Between the Rivers, Buried Sunday. Funeral and burial rites were held last Sunday, January 21, for one of the outstanding women of the community, Mrs Tennie Ahart of Golden Pond. She was the wife of the late Esq. William Ahart, who served the First Magisterial district with honor for several terms. Before her marriage, she was Miss Tennie JONES. Death came to Mrs Ahart at the Ahart home place near Golden Pond, last Saturday, January  20, after many months of illness and intense pain. She was born on May 14, 1866 and was united in marriage to Esq. Ahart in 1887. This couple lived out their pleasant married life in the same community. Between the River, where they   passed away. Mrs Ahart in her early life united with the noted "Old Cumberland" Baptist Church -- but later brought her membership to the Baptist church at Golden Pond. Both churches were blessed by her christian service. The
funeral was conducted by her pastor, Rev. J.J. Jenkins, at her home place, Sunday, at 2:30 P.M. Interment was made in the family graveyard near the Ahart home. Her husband having died in 1929 leaves her survived by two sons, Jasper D. Ahart, and Seldon Ahart, a granddaughter, Evelyn and a grandson, Edsel Ahart of the U.S. Navy. The  pallbearer were: Hoy Jones, Louie Jones, Noah Jones, Edward Mize, her nephews, and Conley Wallace and Gilbert Turner.
