Betty Joe Biggs Fatally Injured
Miss Biggs Was The Daughter Of Dr and Mrs W.A. Biggs, Former Residents of Cadiz
Betty Jo BIGGS, 18, daughter of Dr and Mrs W.A. BIGGS, 825 East Gum Street, injured in an automobile accident Thursday night on Highway 46, three miles south of Spencer, died at 9 o'clock last night at Bloomington City hospital.
The car in which Miss Biggs was riding with three other DePauw university students overturned on a sharp curve near McCormick's Creek state park. The mishap is believed to have occurred when the auto left a gravel roadway for concrete. The party had attended a dance at Bloomington and was returning to Greencastle.
Miss Biggs, a pianist. She was a soloist in the all-city high school orchestra concert in 1938.
Miss Bigg's uncle, Dr. Jackson DORIS, said she was attending DePauw on a music scholarship. A blood transfusion, supplied by her sister, Doris Susan, failed to save Miss Biggs.
