After a protracted illness of several weeks Major Bingham, of Wallonia, this county, died at his residence on last Monday. Maj. Bingham had a wide circle of friends and acquaintances, all of whom were deeply grieved at this sad intelligence. He was a useful man in his community hence he will be greatly missed. He took a leading part in all matters of public interest in his neighborhood. He served as Major of the 7th Kentucky regiment in the Confederate army. H served his county faithfully in the lower house of the last Legislature of the State. His death is a sad loss to his family. We tend them our profounded sympathies.
