PRINCETON, Ky. — Doug
Cates, 77, Princeton, died at 5:40 p.m. Thursday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, Tenn., following a brief illness. Arrangements are incomplete at Morgan’s Funeral Home.

DOUG CATES
PRINCETON, Ky. - Services for Doug Cates, 77, Princeton, will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Morgan's Funeral Home, with the REv. Tom Hughes and Dr. Bill Tichenor officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Providence.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

He died at 5:40 p.m. Thursday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, Tenn., following an illness.

A native of Providence, he was born Sept. 4, 1921. He was the son of the late Carnie and Greek Lyon Cates and was a retired coal miner and a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church, Princeton.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Davis Cates; a son, Don Cates, Franklin, Tenn; a daughter, Diana Young, France; three sisters, Nadine Weldon, Providence, Marie Hayes, Madisonville, and Louise Kuykendall, Kevil; and three grandchildren and a great grandchild.

SLAUGHTERS--Mrs. Sammie CATES, 92?, of Slaughters, died at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday at Redbanks.
She is survived by three sons, Avery of Henderson, Morton Of Evansville and Coleman of Route 1, Slaughters; two daughters, Jettie HIGTON of Evansville and Catherine HALL of route 1, Dixon; two sisters, Lizzie SIZEMORE and Myme MOORE , both of Evansville; seven grandchildren and seven great grand- children.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Harris Funeral Chapel in Madisonville with the Rev. Harry Baldwin officiating. Burial will be in the Slaughters Cemetery.
