Mary L. Gaines, 74, died Saturday May 2, 1998 at 11 a.m.. A native of
Montgomery Co. TN., she was born April 15 1924, She was the daughter of Ivy Corlew, Clarksville. Her husband J.C. Gaines preceeded her in death.

Funeral services for Mrs Mattie GAINES, 76, were conducted Saturday afternoon at the east End Cemetery here.
Dr. A.R. Kasey pastor of the First Methodist church, Hopkinsville, officiating.

Mrs Gaines a lifelong member of the Methodist church, died Friday afternoon at her home in Hopkinsville from complication.
Born March 21, 1866 in Trigg county, at "Fair Acres" farm, recently bought by Smith Broadbent from Mack Hopson, she was the daughter of Robert and Sue HILL and the widow of John J. GAINES, Montgomery, Kentucky.

She is survived by four daughters Mrs Major Wooldridge, Mrs Clyde B Smith, Miss Louise Gaines, Hopkinsville, Ky and Mrs Dell Meador, Macon Ga, three granddaughters, Mrs Fleetwood Lanier, Macon Ga; Miss Peggy Page and Mrs C.H. Ellis, Jr, West Palm Beach, Fla and one great-grand daughter, Dell Lanier Macon Ga; two brothers, L.R. Hill, Gracey and John Hill, Lexington, Ky. Pallbearers were W.O. Stone, Hobart Watson, Charles Crabtree, Oglesby Soyars, J. Nich Thomas and Charles Mattison.

Judge W. T. Gaines, for thirty three years a prominent citizen of Eddyville and for many years the leading hotel man of the place, died last week at the age of eighty nine.
The remains were shipped to Frankfort, his former home, for burial.
