Mrs Elsie Hart (Lindsey) Gilkey, 86, formerly of Princeton, died Monday, March 23, at 5:50 p.m. at Memorial Hospital in Chester, Ill, following a short Illness.
A former employee of Princeton Hosiery Mills and homemaker, she was born Oct 11, 1911 in Webster Co., Ky., a daughter of the late Glover Robert Lindsey and the late Inez (Waters) Lindsey Rich.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Gilkey in 1985.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Haydon and Ardell Gilkey of Lowell, In.; Gary and Beverly Gilkey of Camilla, Ga.; and Kenneth and Peggy Gilkey of Newburgh, In.; a daughter and son-in-law, Wilma and Isaac Spinner of Chester, Ill.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Meda Thompson of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Marie Bradfield of Bagdad, Ariz.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, March 26, at 1:00 p.m. at Morgans Funeral Home in Princeton with Jerome Frandle and Robert Synan officiating.
Burial will follow in Meeks Cemetery, Caldwell County, Ky.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 Wed. at the Funeral Home.

Born in 1930 in Caldwell Co., Ky. a son of the late Roy and Elsie Gilkey, he was a veteran of the Korean War and Purple Heart recipient, member of the Lowell Baptist Church, and was a retired employee of Inland Steel in Indiana.
Survivors include his wife, Ardell Garner of Lowell, Ind.; two daughters, Terri Fox of Crown Point, Ind., and L. Ann Garrison of Indianapolis, In.; three grandchildren, Jessica Fox, Liam Garrison and Andrea Garrison; a sister Wilma Spinner of Chester Ill.; two brothers, Gary Gilkey of Camallia, Ga., and Kenneth Gilkey of Newburgh, Ind., and several nieces nephews and cousins.

Helen Louise Gilkey, 93, Christian Health Center, died Saturday afternoon at the health center following a long illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home, with the Revs. John Richard Christian and Bob Lawrence officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 tonight.
A native of Hunter, Ark., she was born Sept. 7, 1905, the daughter of the late James Henry and Fleda Johnson Harrell. She was a homemaker and a member of the Second Baptist Church. Her husband, Ewing Adrian Gilkey, died in 1976. A daughter, Amarliss Gilkey, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Adrian Gilkey, Crofton, Frank Gilkey, Nortonville; two daughters, Margie Shelton and Libby Welch, both of Hopkinsville; a half-sister, Mrs. Gordon Stone, Raveena; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Before moving to Evansville in 1942, he farmed in Christian Co. and worked for West Kentucky Coal Co. at No. 9 and North Diamond Mines in Earlington. Member of the Earlington First Baptist Church.

             retired from Brookfield Manor Personal Care
             Home, where she was a nurses' aide for 17 years.
             She was a member of Sinking Fork Baptist Church.
             Her husband, H.A. Gilkey, died in 1967.

Mr Gilkey, age 76, died at 10:40 a.m. at Caldwell County Hospital after a long illness.
A native of Caldwell County, he was born June 25, 1908 to the late George Harvey and Nettie (Oliver) Gilkey. He was a retired employee of Princeton Hosiery Mills with 48 years of service.

Member of Pleasant Green United Methodist Church. Member of Eastern Star. Husband, Western E. "Doc" Gilkey, died in 1977.
Survivors: one son, Arnold M. "Buck" Gilkey of Hopkinsville; two brothers, Frank of Hopkinsville and Tom Charles of Christian Co.; one sister, Ola Simpson of Evansville, Ind.; one grandchild.
