LETITIA C HAYES MAGRAW

Mrs N.C. Magraw Dies Saturday
Prominent Cadiz Lady Succumbs After Heart Attack Had Been Ill for Several Months
Letitia C. Hayes Magraw, wife of Dr. N.C. Magraw, of this city, died of a sudden heart attack Saturday about noon at
her home here on Main street.
Mrs Magraw had been confined to her room since last May when she was critically ill.
While she had shown only slight periods of improvement her death came as a shock. She seemed quite bright that day
as she talked with members of her family.
Mrs Magraw was the daughter of John W. Hayes and Lucy Ann Hayes and was born in August 5, 1872 at Roaring Springs, Trigg county.
She was married on December 12, 1894 to Dr. N.C. Magraw, of that community.
Dr and Mrs Magraw and family moved to Cadiz, January 1, 1918 from Christian county, and since that time she was a member of the Cadiz Christian Church and the Ophelia Chapter of the Eastern Star. Of her it can be truly said she was a sweet, lovable Christian character, of a modest nature. Her whole life was centered in her church, home and children -- she found the greatest joys in her home where she reigned with the love and perfect devotion and to the family.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at her home, with Rev. Paul Monin of Glendale, Kentucky former pastor of the Cadiz Church officiating.
Four children preceded her to the grave, twin boys who died in infancy, Raymond Magraw, who departed this life in 1918, and Cottell Magraw died in 1929. Since the deaths of those to sons whom she all be adores, Mrs Magraw never seemed to regain her usual good health.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs R.T. Humphries, Cadiz; two sons, Ralph and Paul Magraw of
Cadiz, four little grand daughters, Ann Magraw and Rebecca Humphries, Emily and Betty Ann Magraw, one sisters, Miss Jennie Hayes. Burial took place at East End Cemetery, Cadiz. Active pallbearers were: Tom Morgan, Edward R. Street, Van R. Alexander, Boyd Hancock, Julian Atwood and E.T. McCarty; honorary pallbearers: Dr. John Futrell, Dr. Elias Futrell, Dr Gregory Morgan, Dr. H.L. Wallace, Dr. G.E. Hatcher, Cerulean, Dr John G White, Cerulean, Dr. W.E. Gary, Hopkinsville, assisting with the flowers were Misses Lucy Magraw, Lucy E. Ledford, Ruth Humphries, Rachel Humphries, Lurline Humphries, Katherine Street and Elizabeth Brandon, Hopkinsville.

Hatcher and White, Cerulean, Mr Fent Dawson, Mr and Mrs Mont Dawson, Mr and Mrs Green Dawson, Mrs Willie Ledford, Mrs Lucy Brandon, Miss Elizabeth Brandon, Mr and Mrs John Brandon, Roaring Spring, Mr Sam Moore, Clarksville, Tenn, Mrs J.W.
