Born in Wilson Co., Tenn., son of Mr. & Mrs. W. E. Raikes.
Brakeman for the Louisville & nashville Railway Company for more than 35 yrs. Member of Second Baptist Church, was an Odd Fellow for 30 years. His father was a Baptist minister.
Survivors: wife, Katherine Raikes; two sons, Prendo Raikes of Hopkinsville and Leinten Raikes of Sterns, Ky.; a daughter, Mrs. Willie Eastwood of Indianapolis, Ind.; a son Lake Zigler Raikes by another marriage; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Boulden of Morganfield and Mrs. Mazie Patterson of Rocky Mount, N.C.; and a brother, Ernest Raikes of Watertown, Tenn.
Services: Sunday 3 March 1935, burial in Riverside Cem.
