EDGAR MOSE SHEMWELL
Services for Edgar Mose Shemwell, 84, Elkton, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the New Cedar Grove Baptist church, with the Rev. Calvin Bond officiating. Burial will be in the new Cedar Grove Cemetery. He died Monday at St. Thomas Hospital, Nashville Tenn., after a long illness.
A native of Todd County he was born April 24, 1914, the son of the late Charlie and Frances Roe Shemwell. He was a retired farmer and had retired from Pal Lumber Co., Hopkinsville. His wife, Margie Latham Shemwell, died in 1996.

Survivors include three sons, Harold and Kenny Shemwell, both of the city, Howard Shemwell, Elkton; Three Daughters, Marilyn Wilkerson, Mexico, Mo., Linda Faye Laster, Hopkinsville, Sharon Hadden, Elkton; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Lester Shemwell, 85, of Caledonia Pee Dee Road, Gracey, Ky., died Saturday, July 29, 2000 at his home.
A farmer and member of Julian Baptist Church, he was born Sept 4, 1914, in Trigg County, Ky. a son of the late William Sanford and Callie Emmaline Morris Shemwell
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Campbell Shemwell on Jan 22, 1996 ; a grandson, Bradley Lamb ; a granddaughter, Kathy Shemwell ; three brothers, Ervin Shemwell, Ewing Shemwell and Lloyd Shemwell ; a sister, Myrtle Burk.
Survivors include five sons and daughters-in-law, Don amd Mary Shemwell of Hopkinsville, Bobby and June Shemwell of Nashville, Tenn., Rudy and Linda Shemwell of Christian County, Ky., David and Vicki Shemwell of Henderson, and Darrell and Cindy Shemwell of Wadesville, Ind. ; three daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda and Ron Williams and Sharon and Jeff Pyle, all of Bowling Green, and Charlotte and Fred Lamb of Caldwell County ;
14 grandchildren, Karen Brashears, Barry Shemwell, Hope Keys, Melissa Outland, John Paul Shemwell, Michael Lamb, James Lamb, Ben Shemwell, Emily Shemwell, Christina Shemwell, Tyler Shemwell, Ashley Pyle, Jason Pyle, Amy Pyle,
and six great-grandchildren, Kaleb Brashears, Logan Brashears, Amanda Shemwell, Drew Shemwell, Micah Taylor, Chase Taylor.
Funeral services Tuesday, Aug. 1, at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz with the Rev Elton Wilson and Rev Don Scott officiating.
Burial followed in Flat Lick Cemetery in Christian County, Ky.
 



LLOYD SHEMWELL
Lloyd Shemwell, 88, Cadiz died at 11:55 p.m. Wednesday at Trigg County Hospital of natural causes. Burial will be in East End Cemetery.

A native of Trigg County, he was born March 6, 1910, the son of the late William Sanford and Callie Emaline Morris Shemwell. He was a farmer and a member of the Julien Baptist Church. A daughter, Anna Christine Shemwell, preceded him in death.

Surviviors include his wife, Iva Sumner Shemwell; two daughters, Mrs. William (Wanda) Morgan, Hopkinsville, Mrs. Bill H. (Brenda) Sumner, Cadiz; a brother Lester Shemwell, Cadiz; a sister Myrtle Burke, Hopkinsville, and three grandchildren.
