Mrs. Lina Gertrude Hancock Tuggle
MRS. TUGGLE DEAD  ---  Wife of Esq. E. W. Tuggle Called to Her Reward.  ---  Died on Dec. 15, 1905, near Caledonia, Trigg County Kentucky, Mrs. Lina Gertrude Hancock Tuggle in her fifty-seventh year. The deceased was the daughter of Col. Nathan Hancock, a native of Charlotte county Virginia, and after the close of the war of 1861 and 1865, in the year 1867, she came to Kentucky on a visit to her sister, Mrs. E.C. Harey, who then resided at Montgomery Kentucky, and there met a distant relative of hers, Mr. E. W. Tuggle, and their meeting was pleasant and their attachments and affections grew stronger for each other, and on the 16th day of Nov. 1868 they were married and lived happily together until she was called to her final reward. She joined the Locust Grove Baptist church in 1868 and had been a constant member of the same for 37 years, and in her death the church has lost one of its faithful members and ardent supporters. The deceased leaves one brother, T. R. Hancock, of!
Hopkinsville,Ky., the only member of her fathers family residing in this state. She was the mother of eight children three of whom are dead and five living, the eldest, Mrs. Bulah V. Hayes, of Lexington, T. B. Tuggle, of Nortonville, L. Aubry Tuggle, of Hopkinsville, Edgar D. Tuggle and Pearl  A. Tuggle of this county and her husband, E. W. Tuggle to feel their irrepairable loss. But grieve not husband or children for wife and mother has paid the debt we all owe, and sooner or later you following her example will meet her on a brighter and far more pleasant shore than this, where there will be no more parting and the weary shall rest forever. She is now only sleeping beside her loved ones that have preceded her to the tomb.
