Enoch S. Stone was born on April 9, 1826.
One researcher gives his place of birth as Floyd County, Kentucky. He married Mary Horsley in Carter County, Kentucky on January 12, 1847.
He enlisted in Carter County, in Company D, 40th Kentucky Regiment. By 1870 the family is listed in Hurricane, Crittenden County. They are also listed in the 1880 census. Apparently Mary died because on September 7, 1884 Enoch was married to Permilia J. Fritts in Crittenden County, Kentucky.

He died on April 9, 1902 and is buried in Hurricane Cemetery, Crittenden, Kentucky.
In 1902 Permilia J. Stone applied for a widows benefits for his Civil War service.
In 1932 their daughter Athena applied for benefits under the Minor designation.
