REV. J. O. STEWART

The Rev. Jack O. Stewaart was born in 1922, and at the age of 12 he was converted and joined the Fort Branch General Baptist church, Fort Branch, Indiana. He was called to preach in 1941; was licensed in 1942, and was ordained to the full work of the ministry September 14, 1945 in the Maunee General Baptist church by Liberty Presbytery of Indiana.

He attended Oakland City College at Oakland City, Ind., and graduated from that College in 1946 with an A.B. degree. He attended Southern Baptist Seminary, Louisville, Ky., one term in 1949.

During the past nine years he has pastored the following churches: Decker and owensville churches in Indiana; Pleasant Hope, Livermore and Providence churches in Ky. At present he has full time pastorate at the Providence church.

He has witness 80 conversions while serving as pastor, and 14 while helping in revivals. He has preached 935 sermons; baptized 76 candidates; officiated at 33 marriages, and conducted 39 funerals.

he is serving his third 3 year term on the Board of REligious Education;; also he has served as a member of the Home Mission Board of Union Association since 1950, and was Moderator of Union Association in 1951.

He was one of the teachers in a Training Course for ministers which was held in the Providence church in the Spring of 1953. This Training Course was sponsored by the Home mission Board of Union Association.
