MARY LEE GREENWOOD ALLEN

Mrs. Mollie Allen, 64 years of age and the wife of J.L. Allen quietly breathed
her last at her home near Siloam Church about 4 a.m. Tues. She was born
and
reared in this county and before her marriage was a Miss Greenwood.
More than
48 years ago she professed faith in Christ. Beside her own children she
raised
several orphan children in her home and cared for them as a mother. She
is
survived by her husband, five sons and three daughters and several
grandchildren. Burial in the Allen Graveyard near the homeplace.

Mollie's age is given differently in census records. In 1870 she was listed
as
three years old, making her birthday possibly 1867.
