Doshie Wood Stephens, 91, of Cadiz, died Monday, March 26, 2007, at 10:10 a.m. at Trigg County Hospital in Cadiz, of natural causes.

A charter member of Calvary Baptist Church and a homemaker, she was born Aug. 8, 1915, in Trigg County, a daughter of the late George Washington and Sallie Ethel Faughn Wood.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Forest Stephens; four sons, James Headly Stephens, Herbert Hopson Stephens, Donnie Ray Stephens and Bobby Wade Stephens; a grandson, Nelson Calhoun; five brothers, Marion Willard Wood, Robert “Bud” Wood, Clarence Wood, Albert Wood and George Lacy Wood; and four sisters, Beulah Faughn, Agnes Holland, Mildred Boyd and Jettie Tyler.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Paulette and Thomas Calhoun of Cadiz; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 28, at 1 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz.

The Reverend Jerry Raley will officiate the service for Mrs. Stephens.

Burial will follow in Sivills Cemetery in Trigg County.
