A View of the Past of the Sholar's
This is the old family house that was lived in by four generations of Sholars. James Averitt and Telitha Jane Sholar, John and Drucilla Sholar, James Edward and Christie Ethel Sholar and their family were the last to occupy the house in 1943. James Edward sold the farm and opened a grocery store in Cerulean. John and Drucilla Sholar are also buried there along with John’s oldest brother, Albert Wayne Sholar and others about 50 yards to the south of the house in the family cemetery.

This farm is located south of Cadiz on Hwy South 139, 7 miles north of the Tennessee line and on the east side of the highway. It is currently owned by Billy Sumner.
The Trigg KyGenWeb Home Page deeply appreciates the kindness of Col. Jim Sholar in sharing his family treasures! Thank you Jim!
